::This is the second main mosque in the city centre (the other being Jummah Masjid at Royal Road). It was built in the year 1962 spearheaded by Sulaiman Vawda. It is not as "historical" as Jummah Masjid, but its architecture is nevertheless clean and beautiful. Additions and modifications over the years tend to hide the original design. The minaret of course is conspicuous and towers above the busy streets Through its loud speakers, it reminds the people of prayer times. It was added in circa 1979. There's a young endemic garden on the first floor, but many people miss it. The project was to create a hanging garden. However the project seems to have stalled.
